I finally got the chance to check out the Roberto Capucci: Art Into Fashion exhibit at the Philadelphia Museum of Art yesterday. I had been impatiently waiting a while to find the time to go and after viewing the presentation, I must say it was entirely worth the wait.
Cappuci’s structural designs were breathtaking in their innovative use of form, color and materials. The inventive construction was so remarkable that many of the silhouettes left me and my mom wondering aloud how anyone actually wore these stunning creations, let alone sat (I guess they simply didn’t.) Thankfully there were accompanying videos featuring scenes from Capucci’s runway shows (thought the models moved quite slowly.)
Check out some of Capucci’s designs below and make sure to check out the exhibit if you’re close by. But hurry because you only have until June 5.
