Hell No, Plain H2O

Unless you’ve been living under a rock your entire life, you know that drinking a recommended 8 class of water a day is good for you.  Not only does it have several health benefits (weight loss contribution among them), it also hydrates your skin and flushes out toxins, thus improving your complexion.  And who doesn’t want that?

Now, for some 8 glasses can seem like a lot (if it really is even 8 glasses, just make sure to drink some water), especially if you’re not down with water in the first place.  I happen to prefer water to most beverages (other than coffee, that is), but that doesn’t mean I don’t appreciate a nice change of pace.  Enter flavored water.  No, not the store-bought kind, the diy kind by using fresh fruits, veggies and herbs.

Here are some of the goodies I’ve been adding to my water to change it up:

  • lemons
  • citrus fruits (a combination of lemons, limes and oranges)
  • cucumber and mint
  • raspberries (a berry combination works, too)
  • watermelon and basil
