Glow Baby, Glow

I know that dewy makeup is “in” right now, but I happen to always prefer it over a more matte face.  It’s more natural and healthy looking, plus it radiates light for a younger, fresher appearance.  Think Jennifer Lopez, who always has a glow about her, no matter what time of year.

I found a great tutorial on how to recreate Leighton Meester’s glowing look from above here; but you really don’t need to spend that much or use that many products to achieve glowing skin.  In my experience, really only four products are essential.

1.  Tinted Moisturizer  Tinted moisturizer, like Aveeno’s Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, provides just the right amount of coverage while hydrating the skin, which is key for this look.  You want something correcting, that’s sheer and not heavy, otherwise you’ll lose that dewy finish.

2. Bronzer  If you learn how to properly apply it, bronzer can be your best friend.  Use one like Hard Candy’s So Baked Bronzer and swipe it everywhere on your face the sun naturally hits (across your cheeks, forehead, chin, and the bridge of your nose).

3. Blush Blush is a no-brainer here and I prefer to use a cream or stain.  I like Tarte’s cheek stains or Maybelline’s Dream Mousse Blush.

4. Highlighter Highlighter really completes this look.  I use Benefit’s High Beam on my cheekbones, brow bones, and down the bridge of my nose.

That’s really it.  Feel free to finish it off with curl of your lashes, a swipe of mascara and some lip balm or whatever else your heat desires.
