Kale Chips

Kale chips are, like, all the rage right now or something because I can’t stop hearing about them.  And when I can’t stop hearing about something, it gets stuck in my head.  And when something gets stuck in my head, I have to unstick it.  I don’t know about you, but the  most surefire way for me to stop thinking about something is to pull a Nike and just do it.

Unless it’s a song.  I can’t ever get those pesky guys out of my head.

Anyway, I made kale chips.  I used this as my guide, but added chili powder into the mix too, ’cause I ain’t afraid of no spice.  And maybe I have a super-powered oven, but mine started browning long before 30 mins.

They were good, yo.  I think they far exceeded my expectations, which probably wasn’t that hard since I was pretty skeptical about them tasting good in the first place.  But no, they’re healthy and tasty.  A total win-win.

3 Things

Finally.  The day has arrived.  I soon will be a proud member of the iPhone circle.  Phone is ordered and on its way as I type.

I can’t wait to get my hands on this magnetic polish from Nails Inc.  There are reactive particles in the polish that move when they come in contact with the magnet that’s built into the cap, which from the looks of it, create an awesome effect.

I love Halloween.  And I love ABC Family.  Put the two together and …. whoa, mind blown.  I mean, they show some of the greatest movies out there from my childhood around this time of year.  There’s Casper, The Addams Family, and of course Hocus Pocus.  Plus a recent favorite of mine, Coraline.  I can’t be alone in my love of this either, because my news feed was totally blown up about Hocus Pocus the other day.  Great minds.

{ Melissa Button Boot, $328 }

Some time last winter, my go-to Steve Madden boots that I’ve had for years fell apart.  I was pretty devastated until I realized they might stand a chance at being resoled.  The hard part has been finding someone capable of that feat since there isn’t too many cobblers lining the streets nowadays.  I finally found one reputable enough that I plan on bringing my poor boots to over the weekend, but that hasn’t really stopped me from looking for a new pair.  And wanting.  Looking and wanting.

I fell for the Melissa Button Boot from Frye since I first laid eyes on it.  It such a classic riding boot and the leather looks so soft.  I may just have to get them too!

Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Spice Muffins

As you may remember from this post, I absolutely love fall.  And pumpkin spice.  It just so happens that one of my favorite things to bake during my favorite time of year are pumpkin spice muffins.  Did I mention they were easy to make? No? Well, they’re a piece of cake.

All you really need are two ingredients: spice cake mix and canned pumpkin (not that pie filling stuff).  That’s really it.  I added mini-chocolate chips to mine because I had some lying around and they’re great with nuts too, but just as delicious by themselves.  Just follow the baking instructions on the box.  Virtually fool-proof.
