Shorts suits were all the rage this spring, but I’m still feeling them for summer. I love their versatility; you can easily bounce from a business meeting to happy hour in one of these. This suit from ASOS is especially lovely with its nice shell pink color and tailoring, making it an appropriate choice no matter the occasion, even during a heat wave.
Here are the trends from some of my favorite designers that I’m excited to sport this fall, and the more affordable versions I found to translate then into the real world, where I (unfortunately) live.
Lace | Stella McCartney, Lanvin, Jason Wu
Graphic | Libertine, Proenza Schouler, Marni
Colored Pants | DKNY, Paul & Joe, 3.1 Phillip Lim
Sequins | Chanel, Elie Saab, Giambattista Valli
Polka Dots | Marc Jacobs, DvF, Lanvin
Menswear Blazers | Ruffian, Stella McCartney, Nina Ricci
For whatever reason, most people seem hesitant to try out the colorblocking trend. Well, I’m here to tell you that you shouldn’t be one of them! Colorblocking is actually kind of easy and oh-so-pretty when executed correctly. Just remember to stick with solid tones in the same color spectrum, so that your choices complement – rather than compete – with each other.
Really, it’s that simple!
